Here's a complete demo of Agari cooking a specialty butcher-sourced 14 oz (400 g) ribeye, 1.4 inches thick.
The steak goes in fridge-cold at 39°F (4°C) and comes out juicy medium-rare with a crisp, golden sear — all in just 23 minutes, automatically.
The process: first, the steak cooks gently at low temperature under pressure, locking in tenderness. Then, the pressure is released and the high-heat sear begins.

Where We Are Today
After years of development, testing, and iteration, we now have a fully functional prototype built using production-grade industrial tooling. This is not a proof-of-concept or lab-only device—it’s a real, working product that does what we set out to achieve: cooks a variety of foods to restaurant-quality perfection with no guesswork or manual steps.
The AI Scanning Process: When the door closes, sensors trigger the scanning sequence. The top camera captures the first image to identify food type, followed by a side camera for the second angle. Our proprietary algorithm analyzes both photos to calculate the exact length, width, and height of the food.

The Journey to the Agari Smart Cooker
We studied everything on the market—from home appliances to $25,000 commercial kitchen equipment. Our vision crystallized: a smart cooker that could see your food, calculate the perfect parameters, and execute restaurant techniques automatically.
We started small, retrofitting countertop pressure cookers with sensors and steam generators. We focused obsessively on chicken breasts—notoriously difficult to perfect—and achieved consistently juicy, flavourful results.
The Breakthrough: Zero to Sear in 60 Seconds
We discovered that traditional ovens waste enormous time and energy heating thick metal walls. Until those walls reach searing temperature, they actually cool the air, sabotaging your sear.
Our solution? A thin inner wall that heats instantly, surrounded by insulation, with a thicker outer wall containing the pressure. We could switch from 150°F to 550°F very quickly—without ever moving the food.
We proved our concept with a full working prototype built from a medical autoclave. Double walls, low-temperature pressure cooking, instant heat transitions—everything we'd envisioned.
Then came the real work: hundreds of chicken breasts. Each cook taught us something new. We refined our algorithms, perfected our timing, and eliminated every variable that could lead to disappointing results.
